Summer Class Proposals-Deadline May 10th!

April 28, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Hey happy spring everyone! As the winter/spring freeskool term comes
to a close we’re looking ahead to the summer term, and a whole new
batch of freeskool classes. If you or anyone you know is interested in
teaching a class this summer, here’s the lowdown:
The summer session runs from June 1 til the end of August.
You can teach as often or infrequently as you’d like during that time,
anywhere from a weekly class that meets for the whole term to a
one-time workshop.

You find the space for your class (lots of great
outdoor spaces are available in these warmer months!)
If you’d like to teach, we need the following information by May 10th
to give us enough time to get the calendars ready and distributed:
your class name
your name & contact information
dates and times& location(s)
a solid, brief, description of your class,
requirements for students (any books, equipment, need to RSVP, etc).

you can e mail all this info to ithaca_freeskool AT riseup.net (Feel free
to email any questions, too!)

if you want to know more, check out

Radical Reading Circle- Tuesday April 15 6PM DeWITT!!!

April 13, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Well the reading is from Michael Albert, a friend of the guy above! Michael Albert coined the term parecon, which stands for participatory economics. Here is a link for information on that: http://www.zmag.org/parecon/indexnew.htm

Tuesdays reading is an article specifically on that question we all think about, “What would it mean to win?”

It is available online:http://www.zmag.org/sustainers/content/2006-11/25albert.cfm

As well as a PDF that I created: michaelalbert-what-would-it-mean-to-win-zmag

I invite yall to come and discuss! Everyone is invited especially your friends!
