Teach for Oct – Dec Semester

Oct-Dec2015 imageThe Ithaca Freeskool is accepting class submissions for our Oct – Dec semester.
Know someone who would be an awesome teacher? Have a skill you want to share with others? Freeskool can be your flexible and informal platform to connect to the community and try out a group, discussion or skill share.

Got ideas? We’ll be taking submissions NOW till Sept 5th 2016.

The next semester will begin Oct 1 and go until the end of December. You choose how many days, what times, location of the class. To submit please fill out the form on our site at:https://ithacafreeskool.wordpress.com/get-involved/

Anyone can be a teacher! You don’t have to be an expert! So get in touch.

The Big Dip-off!

It’s the Big Dip-off – a dip competition from your local Freeskool!
Bring a dip, we’ll bring the chips!
Winner gets $50 Certificate to Moosewood Restaurant and a signed Moosewood cookbook! 2nd place wins 2 sundae gift certificates from Purity Ice Cream. 3rd place wins $5 gift certificate to The Shop Cafe.
When: Aug 15 7-9pm
Where: The CommonSpot 126¾ The Commons.

Come be part of the behind-the-scenes of Freeskool. We’re looking for organizers to help find teachers, make art, distribute calendars and all the other Freeskool goings-on. Being part of the team means getting to know the community, learning programs like InDesign, making posters, being creative and radical. Come get a sense of what it’s all about. Can’t make the date? Get in touch and we can figure something out.

Freeskool Clothes Swap at CommonSpot

You’re invited to the annual Freeskool Clothing Swap. Sunday, April 19th 1-3pm at The CommonSpot – 126¾ The Commons.

Clean out that closet and renew your spring wardrobe. Haven’t worn that thing in years? Find it a new home. Anyone is welcome to come, all shapes and sizes, feel free to come even without anything to contribute – we’ll have plenty.

Snacks and drinks provided. Really, you don’t have to bring a thing.

Freeskool Calendar Release Party

freeskoolFree classes from February to April? Ok – you got it. We’ve got another great round of free on the house. Come check out what’s new at our Calendar Release Event:

When: Friday Jan 23rd from 7-9pm

Where: Waffle Frolic 146 E. State Street The Commons

What:

New calendars!

Screen Printing – Print a fun logo on yourself. We’ll have some clothes items or you can bring your own.

Paper Crafts – we’ll have fun DIY crafts led by awesome Freeskool folks.

Button Making – make your very own button with out button maker. You can bring your own images on paper as long as they are small ( 3/4′ image), or use some of the fun stuff we bring. You’ll like it, yup.
